My father was a welder and would weld different sculptures with what materials he found laying around.\u00a0 As a kid growing up i was always intrigued by the strange birds and different creatures that he created.\u00a0 I would sit there in the garden running my hand over the different shapes coming up with stories for the different animals. That was the start of my fascination with metal.<\/p>\n
My art leans towards contrasts, voltage and violets. I try to find that delicate balance between the perfection that nature provides with the curves and structure of metal, then try and blend the two. My sculptures are made from recycled metal sourced locally from all over Oregon. Most times you can find me in my garage, welding helmet on sparks flying everywhere.
